UPI Split Pay

1 Introduction

Welcome to UPI Split Pay (“we”, “our”, or “us”), developed and published by Winterfield Intelligence. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through full compliance with this Privacy Policy and Google Play Developer Program Policies, including the User Data policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you download, install, and use the mobile application UPI Split Pay (Package ID: com.winterfieldintelligence.upisplitpay). UPI Split Pay works fully offline: it generates UPI payment QR codes on your device and has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising SDKs.

2 No User Account & No Login Required

UPI Split Pay does not require any user registration, login, or account creation.

• You can use every feature immediately upon installation without providing any personal information.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
• We do not create or maintain online user accounts for this application.

3 Information Stored on Your Device

A. UPI profiles you save. When you choose “Remember this UPI ID”, the app stores your UPI ID and business/account-holder name in private app storage, sealed with AES-256-GCM encryption using a key held in the Android Keystore. This lets the app pre-fill your details next time.

B. Payment records. Invoices you create (UPI ID, business name, note, amounts, generated UPI payment links, and the Pending/Paid marks you set yourself) are kept in an app-private on-device database.

C. QR images you explicitly save. Only when you tap Download/Save is a QR PNG written to your Pictures folder; only when you tap Share is content passed to the Android share sheet you choose.

4 Device Permissions

The app requests the minimum permissions needed for its features:

• Pictures / photo storage (Android 8.x and below: WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, maxSdkVersion 28) — used only when you tap Download/Save, to store QR images you asked to keep. On Android 10+ saving uses the system media store without a storage permission.
• No camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS, or phone-state access is requested or used.

The app does not track your IP address, device identifiers, or precise location.

5 Payments Happen in Your Own UPI App

Tapping “Pay via UPI” simply opens a standard UPI payment link in the UPI app you choose (such as GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM). The actual money transfer is processed entirely by that third-party app and your bank under their own terms and privacy policies.

6 Data Sharing, Selling & Third-Party Access

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data with third parties.

UPI Split Pay contains no behavioral tracking, advertising identifiers, analytics scripts, or social SDKs that profile activity across apps or websites.

7 Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Policy)

UPI Split Pay is a general-audience business utility.

• We comply fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Families Policies.
• We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable law requires).
• Because the app has no accounts, personal-data forms, analytics, or ads, no children's personal data is ever obtained.

8 Data Retention & User Control / Deletion

Because everything is stored locally on your device, you hold full control at all times:

• Delete saved UPI IDs: anytime on the app's Profile screen.
• Clear App Cache/Data: Android Settings > Apps > UPI Split Pay > Storage > Clear Data.
• Uninstall: uninstalling UPI Split Pay permanently removes all locally stored data from your device.
• Saved QR images: QR PNGs you saved to Pictures remain in your gallery until you delete them yourself.

There is no server-side copy to delete, because none exists.

9 Security

Saved UPI profiles are encrypted with AES-256-GCM via the Android Keystore (hardware-backed on most devices); all other records live in app-private storage no other app can read. By keeping everything on-device with no login servers, the attack surface is minimal.

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so please also protect your device with a screen lock and keep Android up to date.

10 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or app features. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date” at the top of the policy. The same updated text ships inside the app.
